- Enter
URL http://wits.caddo.k12.la.us/network in your browser
- Type
in your Email USERID
- Type
in your first name all CAPS
- Click the Logon button
- It is
recommended that you change your password after successful login. This is done in the settings page.

If you forget or don’t’ know your username or password then
click on the Forgot your username or password link and the following
page will appear.
- Enter
your username or your email address or both.
- Click
on the send password info to my email button
- Your
username and password will be forwarded to you via email.

A successful logon will display the Workorder input page as
seen below.
Some of the data will be prefilled for you.
1. Select the service
type (What type of repair work do you
need?)
A. Small computer/printer repair B.
Network
C. Telephone repair
- Room: Tell us where the work will be
performed, be specific, room number or office name.
- Category
Service: (optional) Reserved for IT
Staff input.
- Closed
Date: Date workorder was
completed Reserved for IT Staff input.
- Units: How many units or pieces of equipment
were serviced? Reserved for IT Staff input.
- Problem
Description: Type a brief
description of the problem.
- Model,
Serial number, and Asset Tags are only required for PCs and printer repair
for all other Service types leave prefilled information in text boxes or
overtype with n/a.
- Comments
(optional) Add comments or explanations if necessary. Technician notes or comments.


Header Menu Items: Back to top

- Add New Workorder: Opens new workorder input form.
- Workorders: Provides a list
of all workorders for the assigned organization.
- Search: Search for a specific
workorder based on selected criteria
- Queries: (Special
permissions required), enables selection of predefined queries.
- Reports: (Special
permissions required), enables selection of predefined management
reports.
- Go to ID Button: Typing in the Workorder # and clicking
on the Go to ID tab allows users to view a particular workorder.
- The Search Text Button: allows users to search for particular
workorders based on text in the comments section.
- Advanced: Provides syntax information for advanced
search criteria
- Logoff: Exits the system
- Settings: Used to modify
personal settings, such as passwords email etc.
- Preset (use / save): Save previous page settings and
inputs. Useful when adding multiple
workorders of similar nature.
Edit workorder:
When ever a new workorder is created or an existing one is
selected from the workorder list you are taken to the update workorder
page. Here you can make required changes
or updates to your workorder. Back to top
- Make
necessary changes and click the update button.
- Side
Bar Menu Items:
- Copy: Creates a duplicate of displayed
workorder for editing.
- Merge: Merge two workorders into one. (Requires special privileges)
- Delete: Delete a workorder from the
system. (Requires special privileges)
- Print
View: Provides a printer
friendly view of current workorder.
- Turn
on of off notifications for current workorder.
- Actions,
Parts, & Time:
Technicians can document man-hours, corrective actions, and part
expenditures. (Requires special privileges
- Send
email: Send current workorder
via email.
- Add
attachment: Upload a file as
an attachment to current workorder.

Copy:
- Creates
a new workorder using the active workorders’ data.
- May be
used when inputting multiple workorders with similar issues.
Print View:
- Creates
a printer friendly view of the current workorder
- Click
on the workorder ID Number or the Short description to return to previous
screen

TIP:
Workorders can be sent to other users via the send email tab
When the email recipient clicks on the hyperlink at the top
of the page they are prompted to log into the system. Upon passing server authentication and other
security requirements they will be able to view and make corrections to the
workorder.
(NOTE) Organizations are only allowed to view and
edit workorders within their organizations.
Get notifications: Back to top
This turns notifications on or off for the current
workorder.
You must have enable notifications turned on in your user
settings to receive notifications.
Send Email: Back to top
- Type
in the complete email address in the appropriate textboxes. Separate
multiple email addresses with commas.
- Set
priority (default is normal).
- Check
return receipt if desired
- Make
sure that the include print of workorder box is checked.
- Type
in a brief message and click send.
- The back
to workorder link at the top takes you back to the active workorder.

(NOTE) Designated
personnel can edit or create workorders for different Schools and
Departments. Users will only be able to
edit workorders from within their perspective Organization.
Add Attachment: Back to top
- Click
on add attachment from the side bar menu.
- A new
window will open as seen below.
- Type
in a short description of the file in the description text box.
- Click
the Browse button to browse your computer for the file you wish to
attach.
- Select
the file and click the upload button.
- If
your upload was successful a message will appear at the bottom of the page
similar to the one displayed below.
- When
complete click the X to close this window.

List Workorders: Back to top
The Workorders Link allows you to view all workorders
for your school or department.

- Print
List: Displays a printer friendly version of the workorder list.
- Print
Detail: Displays a printer friendly
detailed listing of each workorder.
- Export
to Excel Spreadsheet: Exports the
current listing to an Excel spreadsheet.
- Users
may sort clicking on the blue table headings.
- Click
on the Discrepancy narrative to edit workorder.
- Positioning
the mouse over the discrepancy will display documented comments for the
workorder.
- Filters
control which workorders are viewed.
- Filtered
columns include Department, Customer, Category, Priority, Assigned to,
and Status.




Search: Back to top
- Select
your search criteria from the dropdown menus or type in text in the boxes
below
- Click
on the Search button at the bottom of the form
- Your
results will display at the bottom of the screen
- Scroll
down to the bottom of the page or click the hide form link at the top of
page to bring your search table to the top
- Click
show form to display form enter another search.


Settings: Back to top
The settings page allows users to change their passwords, edit
name, email and customize their view.
The email notifications allows users to turn on or off email
notifications for workorders for their departments. The default setting is off, meaning no
notifications.
